DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

James Somers is quite a prolific writer. For those who have at least started THE CHRONICLES OF SOONE you'll be glad to know it's a trilogy. Even after THE RETURN OF LUCIN he has more Castillian adventures in store for us. Yet that isn't all he's written. So on this day 7 of his tour I'm going to do 2 things. First, I want you to visit the BOOKTRAILER page on this blog and find the trailer for THE CHRONICLES OF SOONE: HEIR TO THE KING. Second, I'm going to list the works, at least some of them, that he has worked on and recently finished. I can't give you reviews on this as I haven't read them. I can tell you this, if he's put half as much work into them as he has to HEIR TO THE KING you're going to be quite pleased.

As you can see, James Somers doesn't plan on going anywhere real soon. I've talked with him and while he loves writing for adults, such as THE CHRONICLES OF SOONE trilogy and PERDITION'S GATE, he also feels the need to reach out to the young people. This he hopes to have accomplished with A WORLD WITHIN. I underestand that he has another young adult novel that he's working on as well, but I could be wrong. He's part of a growing number of authors who write with incredible talent and with a deep sense of commitment.
