DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

LEAPS OF FAITH, compiled by Rob & Karina Fabian

LEAPS OF FAITH, by Rob and Karina Fabian is an anthology of faith in action, and in science fiction. We are treating this as a Tag Team Tour, meaning you will find much more on other sites. Each day I'll begin with a short blurb of a different story in this anthology. So, like the game of Tag, you, the reader are hereby tagged. The CFRB sites that will have reviews, interviews and other great posts are linked to their blogs using the ingenious buttons at the bottom of the page. See if you can find who is posting today. Word of caution. Some people post more than once.
Quantum Express, by Vincent Malzahn, follows the life of a "jumper", a person who travels faster than the speed of light, moving from one place to another, only to find he never left in as he comes to the end of his road. He finds that time travel isn't travel at all, just communication. This deals with something that I really like, "How would you like to follow your own path, only to realize in the end that you had been lied to?" I have a friend who believes "parts of the Bible", but isn't ready to accept all of Scripture. He believes in "soul sleep", that at the end of our physical life our whole life ends. He's also making up new and interesting, albeit confusingly incorrect, assumptions about God's Word. If he doesn't change his course soon, one day he'll join people like this jumper and realize he's been lied to. Only then of course, it will be too late.

By the way, I know of at least one of these sites that will be having multiple posts, including a live interview with the compilers of this anthology. I'm not going to tell you who it is. You're going to have to find that out for yourself. After all, this is a game of Tag.
