DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

Day of Prayer

I told you I like this guy. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they shall inherit the earth." There is much to be said about prayer, the necessity of prayer, the power of prayer, the relationship we establish through prayer, the protection provided through prayer, and much, much more. So it seems only fitting that we set aside this day of our tour to pray for this tour. As Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..." It's not enough to pray when trouble falls down on you or to praise God after the blessings come. We must pray for the miracles and praise Him before God acts. This is an act of faith, our act of faith. I challenge each of you reading this to join us in praying for Marcia Lee Laycock and the tour of her book, ONE SMOOTH STONE.

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus, who has done so much for us already, but we do not come for our own benefit, but for one another. Lord, unite us in You, that the world may know that You are God and may partake of Your great love. I lift up every member of CFRB as they work hard under difficult circumstances to do Your will, oh Father. It must be the enemy is not happy with this addition to CFRB's protocol, and for that we rejoice. Lord I lift up each member above myself that unity might be restored to Your Body. I pray that our example may lead others of Your Body to unite in Jesus Christ to Your glory, not to ours. We are here to praise You, to tell others of You and to lift up the name of Jesus Christ. We are here to tell others of your incomprehensible love. Help us, Oh Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, to do just that. May our thoughts be taken captive by You and brought into submission of Your will as Scripture says. May the world learn of You as the only One who is always faithful, always loving, always holy, always worthy of our praise. Be glorified in this tour and in all that we do. I pray this in the precious name of our Lord Jesus, the Christ, our One True King.
