DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

Day of Prayer

Sorry for getting this out late, but with the heat, the change in this month's format, well I just totally forgot. So if you happen to get here, even though it's late, I'm asking that you join us in prayer over this week's tour. It's going to be different, but I think you will like it.

This week we don't have a single book we are touring. Instead a number of members have picked out some of their favorite books that we have toured in the past, as well as some new interviews. You are going to find out what some of the CFRB members think are the best books we've toured in the 3 1/2 years we've been touring. We aren't going to include the books by famous authors, because in some ways they have an advantage already. We want to give an advantage to some of the other authors we feel need to have recognition.

Dear Heavenly Father, we ask that You would have Your way in this week's tour. It is for You and the Gospel of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that we serve You and tour these books, so that this True Gospel would shine out into places that may not otherwise hear or see the light of Your Truth. We come together in the name of Jesus and ask that for Your honor and Your glory You would lift up His name before all. Thank you.
