DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

A Slight Change

There are those, I suppose, who are visiting here this week in hopes of seeing what book we have to tour this month. I must apologize. We seem to have gotten so used to the first week beginning somewhere after the 1st of the month that when it came time to tour this month I feel we were taken off guard. Therefore I have made a decision to postpone the tour for a week. The day of prayer for the tour will be on August 8th, while the tour itself will begin on the 9th.

It is my hope that we will be able to give you a greater tour at that time. One that will give members a chance to tell you about their own favorite book toured since we began in January of 2007. This site, at least, will have mini-reviews of 6 of the books I've found most rewarding. To that end, while the tour will begin a bit late, you will be treated with a number of wonderful books that have been showcased here. Please take part in this tour by commenting here and on other participating member sites. Often you will find so much more by visiting the member sites, as each of us has our own uniqueness and many feature books not toured by CFRB. You may get a chance to know the different members, and so come to know some of the most wonderful people it has been my privilege to work with.
