DVD Review

I apologize for not being more active, but not having other reviewers or books to review, it's been a little difficult. However I want to let you know about this wonderful DVD "God's Not Dead." Working at the library I found it on our shelves and took it home. When I brought it back I raved about it. I wanted to take it out again, but it seems word gets around. It's always on hold for someone else. That's great.

The opening scene is in a freshman college philosophy class. The professor states he is an atheist, and asks that if everyone will sign a paper with 3 little words on it he can dispense of the dust and get to the subject. Those 3 words are "God Is Dead." One student cannot sign that. He is given 3 chances to argue the case of the existence of God before the class.

Fueled by hate on one side and a determined love of God on the other this is not your simple movie. The poor kid researches and goes off on a journey of his own to state his case. The end is nothing short of amazing. I guess telling people stuff like this is one of the reasons I can't get a hold of it a second time. It's really that good.

Coming January 7th

Finally, after all the preparations, announcements and hassles, we are expecting our first blog tour to take place the week of January 7th. We will be featuring ARMS OF DELIVERANCE a historical novel by Tricia Goyer and bound to take your breath away. Here's the teaser, written by the author:

Two friends, Mary and Lee, land similar reporting jobs at the New York Tribune on the eve of the war's outbreak and soon they become competitors. Mary's coverage of a bombing raid over Germany leads to a plane wreck and an adventurous escape attempt from across enemy lines. When Lee hears of Mary's plight, she bravely heads to war-torn Europe in an effort to help rescue her friend. Will there be enough time for diplomacy or will war get the best of everyone?

This is one blog tour you won't want to miss. Not only does this propose to be a great novel on several different levels, but with it marks the first blog tour for CFRB. We are excited, for her, for us, for all the other authors who will be following in her footsteps and finding even that little bit of promotion on the CFRB promotional tour. Be sure to keep watching this site for more as things develop. You won't want to miss anything!

My Apologies

Yes we will get things going very soon. I've been very behind in my email and that is one of the reasons I haven't been able to get to doing this as quickly as I'd like. I am looking forward to sending out our first proposed review list and getting the ball going. If you have any patience left then I ask you to use some with regards to this. Jackie and myself have other things going on other than answering email and blogging. We actually like to write, if you can believe that. I'm not upset with the email you send me. It's the unwanted email from every "Tom, Dick and Harry" who wants to get me in on the ground floor of some fabulous business, share stock tips, try to sell me almost everything under the sun, quite literally (although no one has yet tried to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge). What really annoys me is the number of people trying to scam God's people with promises of large sums of money if they will help them move their money out of the country for them, or those fake contests that you never enter but always seem to win. (Congradulations we have your Sony Laptop waiting for you to complete the confirmation request). God, our Father, has big pockets folks. The enemy knows it and he has all kinds of ways of getting his grubby little paws in after it if we are not careful. So be on guard while Jackie and I work to finalize some things and get out the first blog tour. And tell someone, if not about CFRB, then at least tell them about Jesus and how much He loves them. That's really why we're here. - David

Coming Soon

With the growing interest in CFRB we should be able to begin planning our first blogging event. To that end reviewers will be getting a list of Titles of submitted materials with a short description. They will have a week to get back to us. After this we will chose one to be featured. The time and date of this must be in such a manner that Reviewers may have time to read the work and write up their reviews. It also must take in travel time, that is the time the book is in the mail before it gets to the Reviewer. For that reason we ask that Authors be prompt in sending out their material. Reviewers are reminded that the date you will be given is a "deadline" to post. We hope to keep this rather conservative so you will not have any difficulty, but failure to meet the deadline (unless you have a really good reason and contact us PRIOR to the deadline of that reason) you will be dropped as a Reviewer and charged for the book by the author. These are part of the Guidelines written on this site. - David Brollier - co-coordinator CFRB

Okay, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement. Actually it is true. It's just that we can't do what we want to do until the people start signing in. I mean it would look kind of silly to have a review if we didn't have an author. And if we had an author and not a reviewer we would look just as silly. Of course, if we didn't have blog hosts all that silliness would be more or less moot because no one would know about it. So we've taken steps to get ourselves known and allow God to bring people to us. I am not certain how Jackie feels about this, but personally I would rather hold off on my own work until others have had their chance (and we've been able to work out more of the wrinkles). If you have any interest at all in becoming a CFRB member (you don't even have to be a writer. We need people in other areas too), please fill out the form at There's a link there to bring you right back here after filling out the form. Whatever you do, pray for us. This is not something we are able to do, but it is something GOD is able to do and we very much lean upon Him, and the prayers of His people. - David Brollier - Co-coordinator

Welcome To CFRB

It is my hope that the Christian Fiction Review Blog will be up and running in full force shortly. I am not, however, HTML proficient, and therefore not able to handle the complexities of writing the blog site as I want. I have someone who will be helping me. In the interum I thought it would be a good idea to let you know that we are here and a little about what we are about.

CFRB is dedicated to promoting Christian works of fiction

At the moment CFRB is "standing by". I've asked someone to help as point person and do the HTML work. Soon, I hope we will be rolling along. In the meantime, get your gear together and get ready to roll. We'll need authors, reviewers and host blogs. Down the road we hope to have special moderators for each of the many categories of fiction. (Why not think big?)

To forstall some headaches and problems down the line there will be a set of guidelines and form to be filled out to be part of this. For now you can email me at of your interest in joining us in making this a blog to help spread the Word of God through showcasing fiction writers and their current works.

God bless.
David Brollier
